Mountain Bluebird House
My grandfather, Lester Waugh, and his twin brother were born in a sawmill shack near Alva, Wyoming, in 1929. Growing up in the Bearlodge Mountains, he loved wildlife, hunting arrowheads, and orange slice candy. He never needed anything fancy or elaborate.
My sister, Erin, and I were lucky enough to spend our childhood living next to our grandparents. The area always seemed full of bluebirds, mainly due to the bluebird houses - simple design and no paint - that our grandfather hung all around our homes. Whenever we see a bluebird, we know that everything will be okay and that we have a guardian angel looking out for us. He’s the reason there is a bluebird in each of my business logos. My husband builds these houses using one of my grandfather’s original creations as a template.
